FETE VOLUNTEERS WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK
It is important to remind parents that all volunteers must complete a Working with Children check with the school prior to the Fete (10 September). Volunteers over the age of 18 years CANNOT work at the stalls without this document.
Thank you to everyone who has already completed their Working with Children Check at the school office and thank you to all Class Parent Coordinators who have reminded parents that this is absolutely necessary if they are volunteering at the school in any capacity. On this website you will also find a Proof of Identity Checklist to help parents better understand what exactly is required. The quickest and easiest way to meet the 100 point check is to provide your original Birth Certificate or Passport (70 points) along with Australian Drivers Licence (40 points) or Foreign Drivers Licence (25 points) & Medicare Card (25 points)
The office staff understand that for some husbands/partners it is impossible for them to get to the school during school hours for them to have their identification sited by staff. However the office is usually open at 8am if that is more convenient for Dads, or the office staff will accept their application if the original documents/ID meet the 100 point check and are brought into the office by respective wives/partners only - photocopies will not be accepted.
For those individuals who have identity documents with different surnames (i.e. maiden name and married name), they may also need to bring an original marriage certificate for proof in addition to the document check list.
